Job Description

Civil Engineering Specialist to join the Consulting Services Department. This department provides specialized engineering consultations, introduces viable technologies, and maintains quality standards. The Civil Engineering Unit of CSD is responsible for providing technical support on issues related to civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering for both onshore and offshore facilities for projects and operating plants, and for maintaining Company Engineering Standards.

Responsibilities include the following:
Successful candidate will provide the following general engineering consultations focusing on onshore structural engineering issues (concrete, steel, material, vibration, and foundation designs) and shall provide technical support to operations and occasionally to Joint Venture operations.
• Provide consultations to field operations of refineries, gas plants, terminals, on as needed basis
• Write company standards, procedures and best practices in his area of expertise. Serve on international standards-writing bodies as the opportunity allows
• Provide consultation and review of capital project developments and review engineering design packages. Attend project review meetings in or out of the Kingdom, as needed
• Develop new technologies and apply these new technologies to operations.
• Participate in providing training courses to developing engineers
• Mentor young engineers. Publish technical papers
• Lead or be a team member in special task forces, such as incident investigation teams, special audit teams, value engineering teams, organizational improvement teams, etc

Requirements:
MS degree in Civil Structural Engineering.
20years+ experience in design work, with extensive experience in detailed structural design with preferably at least 50% of that time spent in central engineering support group.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect them in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages
• Candidate must be fully familiar with hands-on design capability in the civil/structural engineering discipline with versatility in the use of industry renowned design software and industry codes & standards
• Must be able to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural groups and also be able to pursue work independently
