Job Description

This company is one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, operating 16 R&D laboratories, in 40 countries, and with annual revenue of about 40 billion US dollars. The client operates a Technology Center in the Houston, TX area whose mission includes the assessment of competitive process technologies for making commodity chemicals from petrochemical feedstocks, particularly various types of oil refineries- Crude, Condensate, etc..

This Center is currently seeking experienced Process Engineers to help evaluate a portfolio of both existing and emerging technologies in support of internal R&D projects, M&A and licensing activities. The successful candidate should have 10-20+ years of broad-scope petroleum refinery experience working with most of the major process units, overall refinery configuration, process economics, design and evaluation. An advanced degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred, but is not a requirement. Expected skills should include the following:

• About 10-20 min. years of experience in refinery process development, licensing or conceptual process design engineering.
• A record of evaluating competitive technologies using process synthesis tools such as ASPEN. Conceptualizing or developing optimal flow sheets for emerging technologies are very highly desired
• Comparative process economics evaluation skills are essential for this position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The candidate should be a good mentor, inspire teamwork and cooperation, be well organized, and have excellent communication skills. He or she should be comfortable and experienced in dealing with outside engineering companies.

The work location is a pleasant wooded area about 20 miles southwest of Houston, Texas, with good housing and schools, etc. The Co. offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits. Occasional international travel will be required.
