Job Description

Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance personnel for instrument and low voltage electrical equipment. The first point of contact for maintenance issues and improvement projects. The position is also responsible for providing technical support for both small plant projects and for major plant projects and engineering support for unit outages and major turnarounds.

Additional responsibilities include optimization of preventive maintenance scope and schedules and spare parts stocking levels. The position drives reliability improvement by performing investigations to properly identify and eliminate the root causes of incidents and failures.

Large petrochemical facility manufacturing ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. The south side facility uses many of these products to produce propylene oxide, styrene monomer and other derivatives.

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in low voltage electrical and instrumentation systems in the oil refining or petrochemical industry.
• Must demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards such as ISA, NEC, and IEEE.
• Experience with major instrumentation systems including Honeywell DCS, Modicon PLC's, Bently Nevada vibration monitoring equipment, interlock control systems for machinery and related process systems is required.
• Working knowledge of field instrumentation including transmitters and tank gauging and inventory control systems is als• required.
• Well-versed in standard PC software tools, SAP, and be familiar with efficient document control procedures and component databases.
• Strong interpersonal skills are critical for the resolution of issues associated with completing daily activities.
• Critical analytical skills are needed t• effectively evaluate equipment performance and troubleshoot equipment and process problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership attributes are critical t• drive success.
