Job Description

Provides Electrical and Instrument engineering services to the plant, including technical support to maintenance personnel, driving reliability & cost improvements and capital project team membership.
Position responsibilities include:
o implement reliability best practices
o develop and optimize preventive maintenance
o specify equipment spare parts
o identify and implement cost reduction initiatives
o support turnaround capital project team
o perform root cause failure analyses
As a member of the reliability group you will:
o participate on plant and enterprise teams that develop and implement strategic plans for reliability performance improvement
o provide electrical & instrument technical design and implementation support for plant projects
o provide day-to-day maintenance support by assisting E&I Supervisors, Specialists, Technicians Planners and Engineers
o troubleshoot, analyze & evaluate equipment performance
o support unit outages and turnarounds.
o be supported by MRBPT staffing benchmark study results.

Large petrochemical facility on the southwest side of Chicago.

This position requires a B.S. EE degree with work experience in the petrochemical/refining industry (prefer 6 or more years of experience).
Experience in maintenance and design engineering is preferred. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.

Must demonstrate a working knowledge of:
o applicable safety, engineering and industry codes/standards
o process instrumentation
o motors and motor controls
o interlock logic
o PLC's
o DCS Control Systems (Delta V preferred)
o predictive and preventive maintenance concepts
Must have general knowledge of operating processes, project management, reliability engineering concepts, lighting systems, power distribution, safety instrumented systems design.
