Job Description

The Role
Following a major review of its consulting business strategy, the company is seeking to appoint a Global Chief Economist that will provide the company and its clients with clear perspectives and thought leadership on global oil and gas market dynamics, trends, supply/demand fundamentals and policy developments in oil, gas and petrochemical markets; Upstream and Downstream. The position will oversee the work conducted by Client’s Energy Economics team and have reporting to them the Director of Energy Economics.

The position will ideally be based in London or one of the other major international oil and gas centers. The job will require travel regularly to the financial centres of New York, Dubai and Hong Kong – extensive travel is expected with the role. The position will require an experienced and highly networked oil and gas market economist with good standing and strong credibility in the strategy and investment community – able to represent Client at the highest levels in the Industry.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• 15+ years experience in similar roles. Previous operations or trading experience would be advantageous.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of global market dynamics, trends, supply/demand fundamentals and policy developments in: Oil; Gas; Refined products; and Petrochemical markets. In-depth knowledge of any three or more areas is critical.
• Highly regarded and with strong industry networks.
• Personable and strong communicator.
• MBA or post-graduate qualification would be advantageous.
• English plus other fluencies would be advantageous.
