Job Description

MARINE SUPERINTENDENT $100-140K

Provides marine expertise and support in order to achieve the safe operation of all marine assets, and to achieve safe, reliable and efficient shipment, of all the company’s products by company operated ships and Terminals

Ensures that all vessels using company operated facilities meet company acceptability criteria by ensuring all vessels have completed a vessel / berth compatibility study and have been inspected.

Provide marine support to operations in order to achieve flawless marine terminal operations. Provides advice and guidance on the marine aspects of charter parties, and Sales & Purchase Agreements, for LNG, condensate and sulphur cargoes.

Monitors the safety performance of chartered fleet as specified in the time charter party and in the Charterers Instructions.

Minimum Requirements :
Class 1 Master Mariners Certificate of Competency complemented by 5 years of seagoing experience on LNG/LPG or Oil Tankers and a minimum of three years as a senior officer on board i.e Chief officer or Master. Seagoing LNG experience is preferred.
Knowledge and experience of but not limited to vessel operations, vessel repairs. Knows Marine Operations and Vetting systems. Thorough understanding of Navigation systems and Principles of Navigation. Knowledge of Marine Loading Utilities and Facilities as they pertain to liquid and LNG berth requirements.

Doha, Qatar is a pleasant and safe place to live. The company provides free accomodations (townhomes that are nice), a car allowance, 36 days vacation with airfare to wherever you want to go, etc. This is an overseas position which entitles you to a $93000 deduction. With the tax savings and subidized living expenses, it isn’t unreasonable to expect to bank a very high percentage of your income.
