Job Description

Our client is seeking to hire three Corrosion Engineers. The three positions are described here:

Corrosion Engineer (#1)
Provide technical and engineering support to four gas-oil separation plants (GOSPS), two gas trains, WIPS and utility plant, and shipping area.

Responsible for resolving problems in corrosion control and materials performance affecting the gas oil separation plants (GOSPs) process and utilities units.Should be an expert in corrosion engineering. Will undertake or coordinate complex engineering work related to inspection activities.

BS degree preferrably chemical or mechanical engineering.
9+ years of experience, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.

Must have extensive experience in corrosion monitoring, control activities and GOSPs processes.
Thorough knowledge of international codes/standards applicable to inspection (ASTM, API, ASME, TEMA, NACE, ANSI, etc,).
Should be familiar of GOSPs processes with experience in chemical inhibitors, cathodic protection, material selection and coating protection.

Candidates with NACE certification as chemical treatment specialist or corrosion specialist and any other certificates related to corrosion are preferred.

Responsibilities
• Provide expert advice and front line technical support to maintenance and operation personnel on all corrosion control activities throughout the GOSPs.
• Perform corrosion failure investigations and special corrosion related studies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the chemical inhibitors in the GOSPs and assist the benchmarking the corrosion control practices with other practices used in the industry.
• Provide expert advice and assistance on matters pertaining to corrosion and scaling prediction.
• Review corrosion mitigation and monitoring activities in the field to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.
• Initiate and conduct special studies to minimize/control the corrosion in Khurais facilities to improve the overall operations and sustain the reliability in the long run.
• Provide special technical service, consulting and assisting in design and construction of corrosion control projects
• Work with concerned area inspectors and process engineers to monitor and control process parameters related to corrosion.
• Act as mentor to develop competent young corrosion engineers.


Upstream Corrosion Engineering Specialist (#2)

The Consulting Services Department provides specialized engineering consultations, introduces viable technologies and maintains quality standards. The Corrosion Technology Unit of CSD provides technical consultations and maintains standards on issues related to corrosion prediction, mitigation and monitoring; hydrotesting; water treatment; chemical cleaning; mothballing and equipment preservation; Boiler Condition Assessment (BCA); and emulsion prevention.

B.S. in engineering. M.S. or PhD in engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree is highly desirable.

The candidate must be an experienced (10 years+) corrosion professional with Chartered Engineering, NACE Specialist or equivalent certification with broad experience in corrosion control in upstream operations.

Downstream Corrosion Engineering Specialist (#3)

This individual will also be assigned to the Consulting Services Division (CSD). His focus will be on downstream process plant corrosion issues.

The Corrosion Technology Unit of CSD provides technical consultations and maintains standards on issues related to corrosion prediction, mitigation and monitoring; hydrotesting; water treatment; chemical cleaning; mothballing and equipment preservation; Boiler Condition Assessment (BCA); and emulsion prevention.

• Requires a Master’s degree in Corrosion, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related sciences
• 15+ years of experience in corrosion management expertise in both field and corporate locations.
• Experience with corrosion prediction programs is beneficial.
• Experience with the use of corrosion software and latest corrosion monitoring techniques is a plus.
